Wayne H will tour Sweden with TSOM and TM-material.

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Yep. It's true.

In swedish: http://blogg.passagen.se/marcusbirro/en ... yne_hussey

I will translate this later if you want me too.

In short: swedish poet/writer Marcus Birro will do a show where Wayne will play music from both TSOM and TM.

Translation. Google Translate did a good job, just cut off a few rougth edges:

Marcus Birro has just released his new book, "To live and die as Joe Strummer." The book focuses largely on Birro's 80s in Gothenburg, Sweden, and his relationship with old friends and idols. One of these idols are That Guitarist who was a member of the British bands The Sisters of Mercy and The m*****n. Both bands were iconic and gigantic, for those who were called goths in the 80s. Marcus Birro wanted to do a show about his new book and wanted to have one of his idols involved on stage to play music. Would it be Morrissey, Joe Division, The Clash or Thåström? Not likely ...

But just as unlikely;

In the spring, Marcus Birro lifted the phone and rang That Guitarist, who now lives in Brazil. Nervously, he asked if Wayne could imagine that maybe, possibly, possibly, if it was feasible to participate in a performance that would tour around in Sweden this autumn. After a few seconds of silence said That Guitarist;

"I would love to! Send me the dates and I'll come to Stockholm and rehearse a few days early before we go on tour. It will be a blast!"

And that's where are we now. Marcus Birro, That Guitarist and musician Mats Lerneby will make 13 performances this autumn, starting at the Södra Teatern on October 23. The show is based on Birros texts from the book "To live and die as Joe Strummer", who along with Wayne Husseys music and lyrics will be woven together into a poetic rock show. That Guitarist will play both old classics from the The Sisters Of Mercy / The m*****n-era aswell as new material written for the show.

Ok. I see now that I missed some strange things in the translation. But it's still understandable.

Edit: Also, bits of this show will end up in the sharing section.

I'm a huge fan of Gothenburg bands Cortex and Leather Nun (maybe some of you noticed that I used a photo of Freddie Wadling as my avatar photo recently) but who is Marcus Birro? Sorry, I really don't know.

He's a Swedish author. Quite unknown util recently - been much on the telly and so on. He's a huge fan of m*****n, Sisters & Nephilim. I read he's blog, quite amusing sometimes with some Sisters references. Might quote some later..

He used to play in a Sisters tribute band.. don't remember what it was called though. I'll be back. ;)

anyone posing with an umbrella near a 'Via de Poete' plate should visit a shopping mall to realise that the world is full of banality and that we don't need more of that.

A poet and an author. He's been quite well known in sweden among the reading community, but the last 2-3 years he has held a much higher profile. This higher profile includes TV game shows, fotball blogging, radio presenter etc.

To tell the truth he was a real media whore back in the early 90s aswell, together with his brother Peter who also is an author. Back then he was an alcoholic, wherefrom much of his later work have derived.

Marcus Birro as a person mixes highs and lows. He's pretentious beyond all reason, far beyond pathetic. But now and then he strikes gold in his authorship, examples are the fantastic books "Kalashnikov" (2001), "Flyktsoda" ("Eascape soda", 2005) and the poetry book Svarta vykort ("Black postcards", 2007). The latter is written as therapy after his newborn baby died.

I've met Marcus and he's a very nice chap to chat a little with. But I'm sure he can be focking annoying quite offten. Self-pity deluxe. :) After all, he has italian blood running in him. ;) (Not that he ever let us forget that...)

Many people and critics say that it really doesn't matter what Birro writes about, or in what form. I might be a book, a poem, a blog. It might be about violence in society, lost children, alcohol, football or some music group. In the end it's still a self centered text about Marcus Birro. I must say that this is partly true.

Marcus brother Peter have done some fantastic books and TV-series aswell. His TV-series "Hammarkullen" won the Prix Italia award in 1997.

And, yes... this is the first page of Marcus book Flyktsoda from 2005...

I guess you are referring to bleed, blood and the fact that the hand ain't hired?

Yea. Those are cheap mistakes. Strange considering that this book has been printed in quite large numbers, both as a hardback and paperback.

Would actually have gone had it not been that Birro recently converted from self pitying socialism (which I adore) to self pitying conservatism and even more recently populistic extreme right b*lls**t. It makes me sick, especially since I just had gotten to like the bastard.

A rightwing Swedish chap with an umbrella and relationship with Nowayne Pussey, urgently in need of an editor. It turns me on like... A Steely Dan cover band in a club in the suburbs of Dusseldorf.

Did anyone see the show/s in Stockholm? I was in Sweden last week but didn't have time to go. So, was there any Sisters-related material played and did you ask Hussey if he'd been contacted by Andrew for the anniversary show in Leeds? Not that I think he has, but it would be fun to see how he reacts.

I was there. I enjoyed it.
As expected, nothing related to the Sisters apart from Birro talking a bit about The Reptile House EP...
