Rhombus + Grooving In Green (+Flock!) - Leeds - Sat 4th Dec

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Yes, it's the Festive Flock!

Request-friendly DJs playing all your favourite goth, industrial, 80s, new wave and punk, along with some festive cheese and whine!

Plus in a special Christmas double headliner, we've got two of the UK's best Gothic Rock bands playing beforehand!

RHOMBUS + GROOVING IN GREEN

Rhombus play unashamed goth rock of the late 80s vintage, with "swirly top-end guitar sounds, strong bass and distinctive male vocals* that are reminiscent of early Rosetta Stone" (Kaleidoscope). Rhombus play tight, tense, driven songs that are nevertheless so catchy you'll find yourself singing them on your way home!

Grooving In Green features original Children On Stun members Pete and Si, both of whom consider the band to be a continuation of the Overland era of Stun. Now joined on vocals by Tron (ex Solemn Novena), their live set is made up of Stun classics (up to and including Overland) and new material in the same spirit.

I was planning on coming out to this, but Ed threatened to set the dogs on me if I came within 100m of the venue.

It's our "bowling" Xmas work party that night. Whoopdifrickindoo.

I'll be hammered anyway as Leeds are at home so I'll be past caring how much I spend by then so I might pop by late on.

Hello folks!

Just a quick reminder that (despite the weather) Flock is still definitely on and the mighty Rhombus will be playing the pre-club gig tomorrow night (Saturday 4th December)!

Sadly most of Grooving In Green are snowbound in Hastings, but frontman Tron will be joining us and indeed Rhombus for a few tracks.

This will be Rhombus' 150th show, and they're now playing a specially extended set to celebrate!

Mya and Claire will be singing together for the first time, the original Rhombus guitarist will be returning for one night only and as mentioned Tron will be joining the band for a few tracks! Expect a big party and more surprises (there may even be cake!) along with the offical launch of the very limited edition "Anywhere" EP!

Doors will now be 8pm with Rhombus onstage from 8.30pm.

*** Please help spread the word!! ***

Full details for the gig can be found here:
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=145385552140393

The Flock clubnight follows at 10pm, and it's free entry if you've been to the gig! It's a irreverent sort of night featuring request-friendly DJs playing all your favourite Goth, Industrial, 80s, Punk and New Wave tunes!

Full details on the Festive Flock (plenty of cheese and whine, and don't forget the "green" theme!) can be found here:
