A very creepy feeling. Where we mived 5 years ago, the DID break in, even went up as far as the first floor, stole my wallet and then left again with the front door wide open.Big Si wrote:It appears they tried to break in again overnight on friday while we were all asleep upstairs
We were asleep on the second floor.
It just trickles in verry slowly the next morning, like 'who left the door open?' and 'where did i leave my wallet?'
One does not want to believe someone desecreted their place...

I don't wanna live like I don't mind
Will it ever end?
1. Had hell on earth at my last job and needed psychological help to get out of it
2. Then had to fight for a decent reference / qualification paper and won the battle just before it would have gone to court
3. Now the job centre (who have to control that I write enough applications per month) are trying to f**k me up... :-/
Do I have a plate on my forehead saying "I'm an easy target, go on, mess with me"? No I don't!!!
Is life really a constant fight or is it just my life?

MAN FLU while on training course in deepest darkest Cambridge. Can't drink, eat or break in the hotel room.
Dark days.

Can't sleep a wink and I really wish I could for a change. Also still hacking up nasties since getting one of those ever more useless Flu shots that merely give you the flipping flu. What's the point?

Been visiting a mate in hospital who is kind of family. He's in a very bad way and when he gets out he'll stay at weebleland for a wee while.
Unlike Fiendy's Bullsh1t merchant, he was part of the original Leeds scene and did indeed know and a few others.
He does produce some wonderful anecdotes, some are a tad hazy but never out and out nonsense.
I'd love to bring him to a meet but I fear his demons would take over and it would end in a terrible mess.

Spivvy estate agents. Bad enough I'm supposed to fork out nearly £900 for a months rent and a damage deposit(that I'm willing to bet I'll never see again no matter how pristine I leave the place), let's add £65 each for me and my partner having a credit check (I don't get one on the landlords creditworthiness, btw!), £88 for a tenancy agreement, £30 for an "inventory check" (for an unfurnished flat that ought to be waived!), and finally, an unspecified "moving in fee". I'll have spent near 1.5k before even buying myself a pair of sodding curtains. For a two bedroom apartment in Hull!!

Jesus. £900 a month? I'd have thought you could rent the whole of Hull for that!DeWinter wrote:Spivvy estate agents. (sorry)

some f*ckwit a floor or so above has formally declared fridays knock-down-the-building-day. it's week 5 now and s/he's still going strong - tapping away incessantly for the best part of the day and driving me up the wall (me working from home and trying to finalising a journal article with the deadline drawing uncomfortably near isn't exactly helping matters either). and if the last couple of weeks are anything to go by, i can expect some more action tomorrow as well.
i sincerely hope it's some genuine repair work. if it turns out the idiot's just taken up a new hobby which involves hitting walls with hammers and occasionally drilling holes in them, i won't be responsible for my actions

Derek, I know from past experience of losing a four-legs that it's always more affecting than you think it will be. At 18 years they've had more of a life (and, I'd wager, a good life too) than many other cats get chance to have.
That's all we can ever do - put them first and ensure they have a good time while they're here. When that passes, be it one year or 10, then remember them well.
