Bernie Taupin
Slightly strange question. Bernie Taupin (he of Elton John fame) once offered a song but felt it was a bit too goth. I've always wondered what it was and did it re-surface elsewhere? If anybody know...

i'd like to think AE wanted little to do with mr. Taupin's offeringgs and opted out with a joke...
Also mr. Taupin going around "offering" his songs is an interesting, but expected, thing to hear. i'm glad though he was refused in this instance.

Taupin was the lyrics man, John wrote the tunes so this is obviously bogus info

Ah maybe I should have said lyrics. I used the term song generically. But am pretty certain I remember mentioning it. I think it ain't bogus.James Blast wrote:Taupin was the lyrics man, John wrote the tunes so this is obviously bogus info

Ahem.
I got sent a Bernie Taupin (Elton John's co-writer) lyrics recently, with a view to me writing music for it, and when I read it, I thought 'This is outrageous, Bernie! If I wrote something like that, people would call me a goth!'

Sorry wasn't being smart. It was something I always remembered I was sure. Just figured somebody around here would've transcribed it somewhere . And they had!James Blast wrote:erse
