I love the sisters new (ish) stuff

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Not really starting a topic but had to express my joyness at the Sisters new (well if you class it as new these days) stuff. Was listening again to Top Nite Out and Crash & Burn and the quality of these tooons is great, I am sending out more positive vibes for a new album, although I may be running out of vibes to send by the time one comes around :von:

They're fine songs, really. It's shameful that they've not been released as shiny new studio recordings.

You are right, and I also like the way they played their classics on the recent tour.
I would sooo love a live album of their current set. Yes I know :innocent: ... but I mean, an official live album :D

to me C&B and TNO aren't THAT good but it's all matter of taste.

Summer, Susanne, Come Together, Romeo Down are all some of the best Sisters songs. They need to do Come Together again now that Von's voice is back.

Susanne is a song from another dimension. Kill me, but I like Slept.
The best one is Far Parade.

it's funny that I'm rocking out to Come Together circa 2001 (Exxile in Cologne) and there has been a few mentions in this thread about Come Together already!

I've been wondering why Mr. Eldritch did not put the lyrics to Come Together on the homepage or why they haven't played it but once since 2006?

And besides the lyrics and dodgy cover versions , where the f**k is Far Parade?

I'd buy this for a dollar (or 100!), straight from the SoM brand new web shop, on 180 gram vinyl, lavishly packaged, new smelling, awesome sounding, cleverly titled, numbered limited edition... I could go on... ;-)

I used to really like "We are the same, Suzanne", until someone pointed out to me the rather elegant guitar riff was pinched from The Stone Roses "I wanna be adored", which is, I'm sorry to say, a far better song if you listen to it. Kind of ruined "Suzanne" for me.
I wonder if that's why it was never actually released as a studio version? Unfortunately even that got turned into a bad "power chord" number by Chris Whassisface.
The only new Sisters song that I defy anyone to tell me isn't really, really, bad is "War on drugs".
Still, he's not our bitch and he doesn't have to release anything I suppose!

I think War On Drugs is good, if a bit light on the lyrics.

Speaking of which, here it is in FANTASTIC quality, 2001:

Thanks for the links ... :D ... always nice to find some new versions ... ;D ...

For me, the lyrics of War On Drugs are perfect the way they are, typical Sisters lyrics ... :notworthy: ...
