THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I am somewhat out of touch with the current music scene.
Is Diane Birch famous or anything approaching? If Kylie gets a 10, what does Diane get, does she even get on the scoresheet?
The reason I am asking is will this make big money for Eldo?

It's the best cover of a Sisters song that I've heard.

Most certainly not. What a dreadful idea. It's, like, I like cheese. And I like cake... Sometimes the whole is less than the sum of the parts.

Anyway, Velveteen, my arse. Black Velvet, more like.

Some people react like a scared bunch of average white gothorama's with a big DO NOT ENTER sign at their door.

This lady did a song in at least a surprisingly DIFFERENT way, it drifted away from cold, northern European landscapes and broke with the long time 'industrial gothwave cover version lost in a Belgian cave where the fat men still wear VNV Nation-longsleeves'-tradition.

(That said, i think it fits morning coffee during traffic jam, not suitable for saturday nights out.)

It's not different, it's an annoying trend! Listening to the radio (I do once in a while) I hear loads of cover versions like this. Trade guitars for pianos, drums for percussions and bass guitars for contrabass and tadaaa: laidback loungemusic suitable for restaurants and waiting rooms, completely lacking power and impact like intended when the songs were written.

And no, I'm not fat nor do I wear VNV Nation longsleeves

I personally don't mind it... Wouldn't listen to it again as it sounds a bit too country for my liking but I expected worse after your comments

it's an open forum, I think we can all say what we think (within reason)
personally I think Mr. E murders Comfortably Numb and should be kicked soft for his abysmal attempts at it

your mileage as they say... blah, blah, woof, woof
