Is there a studio version of We are the same (Suzanne)?

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Great work!

To be honest I was being a bit hopeful thinking there might have been one. I really don't hold out much hope for any of the new stuff in the studio ever appearing.

As I said before though - one day, maybe one day.

Oddly enough, that is one of the tracks from that particular era that stands a better chance of being released someday. No Pearson involvement.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

I flat-out do not believe that Adam Pearson is the reason there's been no recorded output in the last 17 years. We've had nearly five years since he left now, and still nothing.

It's Eldritch. He's a curmudgeonly bastard with no intent ever to release anything again, but happy to string us along with faint hopes.

At the press conference before the Sibiu gig, Von made it clear that the big issue is that no-one gives the girls money to go into the studio and work on songs, so they have to fit recording in between tours and other projects; that they've started recording a lot of stuff, but finished nothing to their satisfaction; and that they don't have enough non-Adam stuff for a proper new album yet anyway.

after so many years it's hard to believe that Von said something that is close to the truth rather than something that could hold fans for a little bit longer with TSOM, imho.

But, then again, I seem to remember either Ben or Chris fairly recently being quoted to the effect that Von likes recording but hates the idea of an album. This version of the way things are sounds much more plausible to me.

Chris was more or less recently, 2009, interviewed on Finnish TV -> here <- and to me, what he said sounded perfectly reasonable from their perspective.

I've also heard that some of the reasons for not releasing anything has to do with Adam refusing them the permission to do so. But has anyone ever actually talked to Adam about this, or have him on record making any statements concerning this?
