though this bla bla global warming issue can help us save few euros:)
http://www.rockhal.lu/en/faq/faq/public-transport/Make use of this as it helps to prevent pollution and also avoids that you are stuck in the traffic jam before and after the show.

Oh, that's a good idea. I think other countries should follow this brilliant example. I can imagine this - whoever travels to any gig in a country gets free transport, and whoever travels to see a Sisters gig gets free transport in first class. As means to compensate the resulting decrease of income in public transport corporations, less money should be spent on, say, diet pills advertisements or something equally stupid.

looks like we're not going to be able to make luxembourg
even if we went "direct" it would mean:
train from manc to london
tube from euston to waterloo
DLR from waterloo to london city
flight from london city to luxembourg, arriving mid afternoon
and the timings are really tight.
"indirect" would mean:
flight from manc to paris CDG
train from paris CDG to paris east
tgv from paris east to lux
there's just too many points of failure there, in any of the possible routes. if our first train is delayed, the whole thing is f**ked
and it's not cheap with all those different modes of transport
so we've decided to sack luxembourg off and have a few days in paris instead. arrive on thursday and leave on monday, catching the gig somewhere in between
see you all in paris

Not looked into flying to Brussels or Charleroi? (or even Antwerp has direct flights to Manchester) Just an idea

we looked at a few options (via frankfurt looked like one of the best) but tbh it was just too many connections...Obviousman wrote:Not looked into flying to Brussels or Charleroi? (or even Antwerp has direct flights to Manchester) Just an idea
i'm a big believer in the view that the more moving parts there is to something, the more likely it is to go wrong
and each additional item of transport adds another ~€100 to the price :urfF:
anyways, paris is all booked now

Fact! See you in Paris (well, Leeds first of course)
But if the earlier gigs are great and you would like to reconsider your plans, you could always change your mind on the day of the gig, because a train from Paris to Esch sometime in the afternoon takes only 2,5 hours, with just one change. The only problem would be to get back to Paris after the gig, as there are no more trains until the morning. But maybe someone driving? Just a thought.

You know you want to. Btw.....nice meeting you.LouLou wrote:i'd promised myself that Tilburg would be my final gig of the tour but now i'm seriously considering this one. the 6-hour train ride is a tad discouraging though
it was great meeting you too
re: Esch - i really do want to go. chances are i'm going to writhe in agony for the next couple of days before i cave in and buy the ticket though. fingers crossed it won't be too late to sort out the transport and accommodation by then.
