Ah Fair enough. The names all kind of blur into patches on denim jackets! Not sure if they still sell sew on patches or denim jackets. Do people still head bang even?James Blast wrote:Cozy was in Rainbow and Deep Purple, not Sabbath - that stool has been occupied by Bill Ward, Bev Bevan and Carmine Appice only AFAIK

Cozy recorded Headless Cross and Tyr with Sabbath in the late 80s/early 90s and was effectively Iommi's right hand man throughout that period. He left after failing to get on with Dio (who had rejoined to record Dehumanizer), but also as his race horse fell on him and broke his pelvis (seriously!). After it went tits up with Dio again, Cozy rejoined Sabbath & recorded the Forbidden album. He left soon after as he was disappointed with his reduced role in band affairs, feeling that he was owed a bit more after doing so much to restore their credibility in his first stint with the band (both Headless Cross & Tyr are great albums, Forbidden however stinks like a sewer). He was replaced by Bobby Rondinelli for one album (also a stinker imho) before the original line up reconvened. They in turn have had Mike Bordin (ex Faith No More) fill in for Bill Ward on one tour.James Blast wrote:Cozy was in Rainbow and Deep Purple, not Sabbath - that stool has been occupied by Bill Ward, Bev Bevan and Carmine Appice only AFAIK
The other two drummers that spring to mind for the band are Terry Chimes (ex The Clash) who did some dates in South Africa & Eric Singer who played on The Eternal Idol (in 1987).
Worryingly, I wrote all of that without once having to consult the record collection or book shelf ... bit of a Sabbath trainspotter me!
Sorry for the derailment, I couldn't resist.

Mothra - maybe it is time to dig out Tyr, Headless Cross and Forbidden, and give 'em another spin!

Thanks gents!
I don't want to hate Forbidden, I just thought it was a terrible terrible album by an otherwise brilliant band.
Are they deserving of their own thread? I'm drawing a blank in terms of band names to contribute to this list!

I didn't even know they had an ellpee called 'Forbidden'!
I must admit I lost interest in them around 'Heidless Cross', I heard 'Dehumanizer' when it was released and I thought it was gash too.

Disagree!
it's a crap sleeve too
I'd dearly love to hear Glen Hughes sing with Sabbath again
<forgets he has the Iommi 'Fused' album>

Oghr.
It should have been ace, but it's just "eh,"
...like something's missing.
(Oh yeah, Cevin's missing!)

Laudable sentiment ... startling lack of musical originality or any interesting lyrical content.

I want a toga and a flying car. It is the 21st century, we're supposed to have these things by now!n'Emolicia wrote:Hahahahahah!Pursued By Trees wrote:We Were Promised Jetpacks.

If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Dude, you can have a toga anytime you want.
Just rip the sheets off the bed & wrap 'em around you.

We Were Promised Jetpacks would be a good album title, choose a band...
