Smiths Rockpalast gig on Sky Arts 1 now + 2am tomorrow

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

The Smiths are good enough. In the way that Coldplay are good enough but that Chris Martin dude should be shot to the moon.

Hence my reply. He can go join Chris Martin on the Dark Side of the Moon, or even better, shoot him straight to Mars.

Morrissey is so misunderstood & underrated even today.

I liked The Smiths from the first time I heard them but then when they split up that was the end of my keeping up with any of them including Morrissey.

It wasn't until MTV showed his 45th birthday concert at Mancheaster MEN the following Christmas (2005 I think) that it got me intrested in him as a solo performer & from seeing that I just went mad on Ebay and anywhere else I could buy his CDs from, buying anything I could find by him - official & bootlegs to the stage where I had more CDs & DVDs of The Smiths / Morrissey in my collection than all of the other bands put together.

I rate Morrissey so highly as a songwriter and I do have to say that he's right up there with Eldritch for his one-liners to hecklers & put downs yet he's also so humble when it comes to the fans chanting his name at concerts - he just says "Stop it......" in a humbling kind of way.

You cand send Coldplay & Chris Martin anywhere you want for all I care but not Morrissey.

:)

I wish I had Sky Arts 1, but haven't even got Freeview.

The Smiths are pure class, Morrissey was definitely one of those people like Eldritch (witty, great in interviews etc etc), shame he's a washed up disgruntled looking bastard now. Also the fact their drummer took him to court I find quite humorous.
