Wrong wrong wrong. The Reptile House is as close to perfection as anything The Sisters have ever created.

It reminds of boring romantic american films, living as an angel, gone with the wind etc..magic booka wrote:1959 for me. leaves me cold (in a bad way) every time. got so bad at one point i burnt myself a copy of floodland without it on there.
disagree about on the wire though. i love that song.

Aw man, War on Drugs kicks! Agree on Romeo though, soonzefest (and waste of a live bass).

Torch
Blood money/burry me deep (i guess i don't hear enought to like yet)
i'm not a fan from Torch, but it's good.
Blood Money it's just awesome
Burry me deep it's ok.
Conclusion after all:
Sisters doesn't make bad songs - only some fews that isn't awesome.

Wasn't feeling Romeo Down at first, until that line hit me across the nape of the neck, like Kato leaping out of the airing cupboard behind me - "someone phoned to tell them... no-one home"...Jim wrote:Aw man, War on Drugs kicks! Agree on Romeo though, soonzefest (and waste of a live bass).

The only song I actively really dislike is When You Don't See Me, and that's only because it was the "Our Song" s**t with my first boyfriend when I was 15. Who being a cheap bastard recycled it with his next one.

Adrenochrome.... crikey blimey.... didn't think I would see that make the thread. Although as the other side of the single was the Sistastic Body Electric it could be argued that Adrenochrome was not the strongest track even on the 7" it appeared on.itnAklipse wrote:Adrenochrome

But it's alright. Beethoven, Mozart, and even the Russian composers, have a few pieces i find incomprehensible and boring.
I'm surprised so many like it, just common punk rocknroll with teenage lyrics, isn't it?unholyracket wrote: Adrenochrome.... crikey blimey.... didn't think I would see that make the thread.
Worst...there are a handful to choose from, but the most overrated right now has to be Rain from Heaven. I was a bit excited last summer when it was introduced, but was quickly sobering up when I heard it myself in Leeds. Musically extremely dull, would fit on SSV. Good lyrics though.

The first single. Goes without saying.
Possession.
Torch. I've thought this was rubbish ever since 1987.
Anything that was released with Dominion, except Emma.
Doctor Jeep (although the lyrics are brilliant)
You Could Be The One (although the lyrics are hilarious)
Romeo Down.
Apart from that, it's all good.

Agreed, Sonya - Possession is surely one of THE definitive Sisters song - though I'd say it sounds way better on its live '91 performance than as a studio track - check it out on Youtube if you haven't heard it yet...Sonya Marmeladova wrote:Oh, I LOVE possession!Mr. Wah wrote:Trying to be objective here...

Disagree with just about everything Mr Wah is saying there, though I admit Romeo takes some getting into...
Although More got me into checking out more Sisters (note to Sisters old skool diehards - replace my reference to More with Some Kind of Stranger /Driven Like the Snow if the vein in your forehead's started throbbing with indignation ), Dr Jeep - no, you read that right - got me onto the ravenous road of buying pretty much everything the Sisters have ever smelled, looked at or trodden on - including a bootlegged Damage Done EP, for which I should apparently be sectioned but have luckily so far evaded the Taste Police...

Thank you, I listened to it now, the song is so passionated therefore suit in live-performance! But I think it is very good also in recordings. It is well-made all through.Machine Regime wrote:Agreed, Sonya - Possession is surely one of THE definitive Sisters song - though I'd say it sounds way better on its live '91 performance than as a studio track - check it out on Youtube if you haven't heard it yet...Sonya Marmeladova wrote:Oh, I LOVE possession!Mr. Wah wrote:Trying to be objective here...

The most successful tyranny is not the one that uses force to assure uniformity but the one that removes the awareness of other possibilities, that makes it seem inconceivable that other ways are viable, that removes the sense that there is an outside.

Any version of Anaconda, live or otherwise. It just makes me cringe..
I wouldn't say I hate This Corrosion, but I tend to avoid it, all that twatting about between verses and choruses. That, and trying to push Meatloaf out of my mind (responsible for far too many chav karaoke favourites), and the fact that every time I mention upcoming gigs to non-Sisters fans, the response is often; "I remember them, they did that song..."

Yeah if I had to say any it would be TC for similar reasons. Sometimes i think its a blast(especially when first hearing it) but most of the time nowadays....eh. Also TOL 92 I fail to see the point, especially those irritating melismas being wailed all over the place....although I did rate Alice 93, so I guess he can pull off a decent remake, just not that one. Oh and Detonation Boulevard is quite naff. Otherwise? No real complaints.
