Will I Dream?

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Right, I've been reading a hell of a lot of Will I Dream bashing here over the last week and it's about time someone stood up for it. I'm proud to say I BLOODY LOVE IT.

Please feel free to cast your votes and let's let the stats decide...

I really do love this song, so I'm very curious what you don't like about it?

As I mentioned lately ...
Being645 wrote: Changed my mind on this ...
so far I don't know any version that really brought it across,
but there is a lot of potential in it, very fine and light, and the
combination of these lyrics with the voice and the music is - a gift ...

Now that I can see it this way, I might even say, it's a typical great Sisters song ...

But I wouldn't want to tell. I'm sure there are plenty more layers than
what I can see now. Things always show with time.
Looking forward to any future versions ... 8) ...

Same here with will i dream
Love it few years ago and now i hate it too much

Well with anaconda its the oposite, first time i heard the "new" anaconda (aka she willllllllll) i just hated it and said something like "i want my she will she will she will" back
And now i think its a f**king groove sound, and on my free-time i like to play it alone lol

what can i say more... connection between main riff and refrain it's completly ridiculous, it's not a good pair, main riiff is so childish anyhow, and Von singing "will i dream... will i dream..."... this melody must be taken directly from longer toilet sitting.
it's only my taste, but i don't like alsow when you don't see me, which is very similar tired one.

Strangely, given how much I love Will I Dream, and given how I can see the link, WYDSM is my least favourite Sisters song by quite some distance.

Still, nice to see WID doing well in the voting so far! :D

Will I Dream is pretty enjoyable, but you have to be in the right mood for it, otherwise its riffs can sort get on your nerves a little.

For me When You Don't See Me is kind of the same qualitywise, but differs in that it has the potential to be the better song - but falls flat because of the stumbling effect of the chorus (too many syllables maybe?), and its lyrics are obtuse to the point of absurdity.

The lyrics are great (of course) but musically it's always seemed uninspired and tedious to me.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

It's not BAD as such, just very dull... :|

Always glad it's over not because I hate it , but because it's an empty shell between very good songs.

OTOH, it is a welcome moment to fetch another drink at the bar!

i kinda like the t-rexy/glammy main riff, but for me the song lacks a real groove and any dynamics (compare with the grooveathon that is summer or susanne)

whenever they play it its feels like they're just ploughing their way through it :|

That sounds roundabout right to me. That riff should be all huge and shiny and made of buffed chrome, but instead the overall effect of it comes across as kinda limp.
