What are you favorite sisters songs?

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Like them all... mostly (only a few exceptions).

If I had to name one song it would be Lucretia, the full 12" version ;D

While on the subject, I very much like "Untitled", not the Dominion one but the guitar/bass/drums instrumental as found on the Kill The Lights boot. Bits of it sound like they've been subsequently used in other songs, but I'd love to see that song recorded properly...

Nic try, but ya all wrong. My favorite sister's song is Running Up that Hill by Kate Bush. Our Jenny, my faourite sister just loves that song :) :|

But saying that , if we are talking about the Sisters of Mercy ( retro gothic band from the 1980's). They have at least done us a great favour by having a back catalogue that is so small it can fit on the back of postage stamp.

Sad to say, but due to awful over-production on FALAA and my lack of interest in both Floodland or anything that mullet wearing Steinman has had his bombastic Las Vegas inspired show tunes on. All my favourite Sisters songs have been narrowed down to live versions. For instance..

Floorshow : Sweden 1985 ( So awesome that Rosetta Stone stole the crowd reaction from it for one of their 'live' recordings)

Emma : Sheffield Uni 1985 & Royal Albert Hall 1985

and that's it.."Black October" and the "Tune In Turn Out.." tours were both distant foggy drug induced comas and are now just scratchy memories on TDK and Memorex.

I love the trance-y snake-y sound of Burn and Heartland but all of them, really.

Oh,and right now-Gimme Gimme Gimme from Danceteria-It's totally crazed.

Basicaly everything after Damage and before Under The Gun with the exeption of the miserablist manifesto that was the dirge and drone of Reptile House   (many plagues be upon it) and Dominion and Corrosion with YCBTO thrown in for good luck.

The funny thing about the Sisters' entire disco - graffy for me, is that there's a song for every experience and feeling I can (or even can't) put a name to.

I seem to have a different favourite every day, and sometimes even my least listened to track can just leap out ahead out of nowhere to become my "Most Likely To Succeed". I guess it's a bit like with women - one day you've got one running around your mind, fantasy-wise, 24-7 and the next there's a new tiger on the block who you're all over - figuratively speaking - like a rash. Or maybe that's just me. :innocent:
