With the tour thus far seeing almost 50 different songs being played, has it occurred to anyone else how strange it is that "Still" seems to be off the radar screen?
Are they bored with it?
Do they think the fans are bored with it?
Or as the eternal optimist, are they gearing up for a single release?
So what's happened to "Still"?
I don't know but I'm "still" bored of this song
Ben and Chris did a nice work with Arms and an even better job in reinterpreting old classics (NTTC, Good Things, More, RFH).
A single release? shure....not^^ Wouldn't make much sense (PR wise) not to play the single/song you are going to release.

Maybe THAT is the song they are gearing up for a single release? Besides, since they very well know that the gigs end up on Youtube 15 minutes after they leave the venue, what better way to hype a song that they actually WILL release a studio version of, than to put the lyrics out there well ahead of time, have people wonder about it, and have nowhere else to get it than on their studio recording/single?Motz wrote:More to the point, where's Far Parade?
If they did play it live, many people would be content with that, who otherwise may have bought the single, which would be the only place to get it otherwise.
Right ?
"... because we're that kind of people."
I think it wouldn't make much sense to avoid playing it live because of possible youtube/web leaks that might spoil any release plan (something I can't follow since the forums/youtube/social networks is probably an important leg of the sisters self-preserving PR machinery).
And to maintain a realistic view - once released (no matter if it's a studio recording or an audience recording), you'll find it on youtube/filesharing anyways - I'm shure Andrew is aware of this as well. It must be quite a "carrot and stick" relationship between him and the internet world I guess^^

if it was their intention to release it as a single i'd say they've missed the boat. it's been almost 2 years since the lyrics were published on the website and the initial hype lasted only a few months.Prescott wrote:Maybe THAT is the song they are gearing up for a single release? wait 3 months, fine. 6 months? OK. 1 year? if you must.
wait 2 years and expect people (however irrational ) to be as interested as they were in the beginning? i don't think so.
uhm i dont know about you but even if they had played it at every gig that there were fantastic recordings of it, if they released it as a single i would still buy it, if not only so they know people are still out there wanting them to release stuffPrescott wrote:If they did play it live, many people would be content with that, who otherwise may have bought the single, which would be the only place to get it otherwise.Motz wrote:More to the point, where's Far Parade?

If and when they release a new single/DVD/album I am buying a copy for all of my friends, and throwing a party where I will invite everyone and hand them each a copy at the door, just as a way to say: "Thank you for listening to me bitch about the Sisters not having any new studio records in almost 20 years."Azazel666 wrote:uhm i dont know about you but even if they had played it at every gig that there were fantastic recordings of it, if they released it as a single i would still buy it, if not only so they know people are still out there wanting them to release stuffPrescott wrote:If they did play it live, many people would be content with that, who otherwise may have bought the single, which would be the only place to get it otherwise.Motz wrote:More to the point, where's Far Parade?

That, is a most splendid idea.Prescott wrote:If and when they release a new single/DVD/album I am buying a copy for all of my friends, and throwing a party where I will invite everyone and hand them each a copy at the door, just as a way to say: "Thank you for listening to me bitch about the Sisters not having any new studio records in almost 20 years."
...and if I'm in any position so to do, I will do, too.
...and some of us wandered off entirely on purpose.

It's *Still* waiting for a proper chorus/melody...
Arms has that chugging riff that makes it sound like Rammstein circa 1997. Too bad it's 2011.

... what a funny idea ...
When The Sisters played Woodstage in 1996,
Rammstein were announced to be The Newcomer of the Year
... and what have Rammstein done since? Nothing real, in effect ... ...

Loving Arms' chugging, hating Rammstein's, so I don't share your opinion - the latter have a very ugly abrasive sound, and their vocals and lyrics are a hackneyed crock of crap too, I seem to recall.
As for Still, it's not exactly gonna have people clambering over onto the stage and clamouring on bended knee for Eldritch to give it another whirl... but it's still better than 99% of the dross out there.

I actually really like Still.

I have the feeling, call it sixth, seventh or whatever number > 5 that "Far Parade" considered propably as a kick-start for something bigger, like "This Corrosion" was in hold position for some time from Gift Era and taken out from naphthalene to kick-start the Floodland album
After that thought ofc, i wake up in the desert of reality and the white rabbit was gone

Before we knew that the video company had just produced the "filmic delights" I had been thinking that it might have been a promo video for Far Parade.iesus wrote:I have the feeling, call it sixth, seventh or whatever number > 5 that "Far Parade" considered propably as a kick-start for something bigger, like "This Corrosion" was in hold position for some time from Gift Era and taken out from naphthalene to kick-start the Floodland album

Alas, it was not to be. The status quo has been maintained.
