Who else remembers his threat to leave the country if Labour won in '97? Probably partly responsible for the huge landslide

As a drummer he was brilliant, as a singer/writer terrible.
To globally say they were terrible as a band tho, is like saying the sisters are s**t cos of certain parts of their career that you dislike.
Embrace the good bits! as I'm sure some philosopher must have said at some point.

... well, ok ... they did make visible some idea of the wet asphalt on
Broadway at night ... but still that was so, so, so ...post-war easy-TV ...
nonetheless nice, yes. And I like it nice at times.

Maybe Genesis will replace him with a drum machine and move into "Industrial Groove" music.
Well you must know something

& so?
We'll still get Easy Lover et al piped into the supermarket sound system ad infinitem whether he's retired or not.
What he's actually done is stop producing p!ss poor pieces of "music" and has left us to endure the sh!te he left behind on tv adverts, in lifts & on dodgy kareoke machines.
Not to mention a couple of b-movies for good measure.
Thank flip he didn't actually die.

Indeed! Alongside such well-loved figures as Paul Daniels, Jim Davison, and that spotty young Scottish snooker player who's name escapes me. Didn't The Sun or The Mirror rent a moving van and offered him usage of it for free?:lol:markfiend wrote:Who else remembers his threat to leave the country if Labour won in '97? It's a testament to Phil Collins that his biggest fan is Patrick Bateman!

Aye, the chapter about Genesis is one of the funniest passages in American Psycho.
