Songs that were never played live Poll!

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I think you'll find that Black Planet is the most :) embarrassing choice - but still the best one...

As we only have one choice possible, I will say the splendid "Driven like the snow".

I think Colours would work well.

Now in terms of ones they haven't played in a while, I think this line-up would do scorching versions of "Heartland" and "Gimme Shelter".

Colours would go well as a substitute for Neverland or Rain From Heaven in the setlist. :D

And what about Lights? Or have they played it in any time?

it's on one of the 1983 bootlegs, iirc. frost upon the windowpane, perhaps?

lights is probably my all-time favourite sisters track - i'd love to hear it live.

I had to vote for Driven Like the Snow, as tempting as Bury Me Deep and Poison Door are.

I might give them all up for a performance of On the Wire with the guitar line from the studio version.

It's on the Possession - Live In Amsterdam boot, at least (from 83 as LouLou said). Really good performance, heavy sound.

There's a few 83 recordings with Lights on them; I think they only played it 4 or 5 times max. I think Hamburg 83 is probably the best one, with a really really really long extended intro.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Amsterdam Paradiso '83 - the recording with the dodgy tape speed..

I definitely remember it being on that..

Love to see that prowling vintage hearse given the 21st Century NO2-injected Von tune up... or would I? There's only one way to find out...

Quite sometimes in 1982/1983

You can check it here

http://darkcircleroom.blogspot.com/sear ... rcy%201982

and here

http://darkcircleroom.blogspot.com/sear ... rcy%201983

This is by no means complete, but I think you can get at least a dozen recordings of it.

It'd have to be Black Planet for me although I'm not sure that I'd want to hear it with the Ben & Chris treatment. If they were going to play it live now I wish they'd play it as the orignal was played on FALAA.

Maybe it would be interesting to hear a new version of it with Ben & Chris though, I'm sure they'd do it justice.

Second choice would be Driven Like The Snow.
