this corrosion cover in private practice

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I don't understand what you're asking.

Well, that explains the gig in Japan.
I don't necessarily agree with everything I think.

I really like what she did with the song, musicwise.
but to me, the way she sings it is exacly the opposite of what the song is all about.
it simply does not work for me.
so no I don't like it. sorry :)

I am wondering if covers are more likely to be appreciated when the genre is clearly different. With the Sisters cover of comfortably numb the genre is not that different from the original. Maybe that's what makes it that people here don't like it. Or it can be that you and the other dude like the original so much that yiu dislike every interpretation.

Oh right, I see what you mean. Sorry 8)

I actually like The Sisters Of Mercy's version of Comfortably Numb, but I absolutely detest The Scissor Sisters' version. But on the whole, I think you may be onto something...

I first heard TSOM do Comfortably Numb at the Birmingham NEC 29 June 1992 (bloody hell 19 years ago...) and I nearly died laughing. It just seemed so appropriate somehow.
