The Mum's on pt. 4 of 6 with the chemo today, I'll post an update around 5-6pm, she was told it would get more intense as the treatment went on and while she was pretty good last week it is taking its toll. I'll need to do some kind of head count as I don't have a very large patio but I also want to be as welcoming as poss. If it's really pishin' it doon my room is not an option as a refuge as it's only 10 x 12' and 45% full of junk, that's coming out to meet me! Anyone intending to pop along please PM me.

@ Baz.
Give us a text sometime tomorrow when arrangements are sorted. We get into Glasgow at 2 but can't book into the Tavelodge till 3.
If your off into town we'll have to meet up in a child friendly pub for a beer 1st then I'll take little un back to the hotel.

I'll probably be hanging around Central Station from around 1:30 till 2, as that seems to be when most people are coming - apart from Inga, who's arriving at 6:20 in the morning
As for child friendly pubs, the Hengler's Circus (Wetherspoons) at 351 Sauchiehall St is handy for the Travelodge and the ABC. I saw King Tuts and Nice'n'Sleazy listed as child friendly on the List site but I'm not sure that's accurate.

Blame the Central Hotel for bad habits I should point out that I'm also happy to meet people at McPhabbs, but I thought people might prefer somewhere en route, hence the Wetherspoons suggestion.James Blast wrote:Andrew I thought you'd stopped hanging around train stations

I'll be at the gig with the missus, and three mates, all of whom will be giving out flyers for the aftershow. Also, if you need directions, look for a scary-yet-lovely Polish lass named Arieta, who'll be somewhere outside the venue, dressed in PVC. She'll lead the way.Quiff Boy wrote:and i assume most people are going to korin's night afterwards? and that there will be flyers with info & directions?
Here are some directions, as you can see, the city centre has been helpfully laid out in a grid pattern. So either take the route on the clicky, or just keep walking down Sauchiehall Street towards town, then turn right on Renfield Street, and keep going until you pass Central Station. The Classic Grand is next to the nearby McDonalds.
Also, if anybody's in Glasgow already, I'm DJing at the Classic tonight too (we do a regular night on Wednesdays), playing mostly 80s/90s pop, and a bit of classic rock/industrial.
I've still not a clue what I'm doing during the day tomorrow, though. A bunch of things have come up making getting anywhere difficult. I don't think I'll be able to make it to Unkle's, but should still be free for pre-gig drinks, provided I'm in one piece.

started in the queue with _emma_ at dawn. next person turned up at 5:00
gig okay, sound crisp and clear.
only real surprise - the new song in setlist which actually turned out to be an obscure 60's garage classic (bonus points for naming it in the venue).
hangover - stonking!!
