Judging by Batty's pic of Von, it wasn't really him, but a holographic image. Well, either that or his ghost...

Just listened to the boot of this gig.
I didn't think much of the new guitarists when I saw them in 2006. I still don't think much of them now. How much more can you dumb down the guitar parts? A Rock And A Hard Place was terrible.
Get Adam and Chris/Mike back on it. At least they could play with some emotion and actually made the Sisters sound like a mature band rather than some kids first cover band.
Not including Von in this. He's sounded terrible for years.

You like Iron Maiden ? they played the same s**t since dawn of metal... Put on the "Live after Death" live album from the 84-85 tour listen to it, then put on the DVD "Death On The Road" from the 05 tour. Same Maiden, same sound, same s**t... only band that get aways with that is Motörhead.. but that is another time and another thread...
Put on a live bootleg from 85 with The Sisters and shake your tail feathers, then put on a live bootleg from 93 for example.. they dont sound the same... very different indeed... That my friend is evolution... without evolution we would still be Monkeys.. so you wanna be a Monkey ?
OFC, we all have different opinions, personally I like that Eldritch is always trying to improve and change The Sisters machine soe they dont stay tramping the same spot all over.
listening to Eggies recording of A Rock And A Hard Place from Sonisphere.. a whole lot different from 85, I agree.. but this version sounds so f**king alive and kicking compared to the 85 version..
Andrew Eldritch Dour Festival 1997: Yeah, We take any request... As much as we ever do.

I'm actually purely talking about the current guitar line up. Of course I expect a band to change their sound over a period of time. I've never had a problem with the Sisters sound changes until 2006.Drsisters wrote:Might not be the right place for this, but here we go again...CellThree wrote:Just listened to the boot of this gig.

I guess it's just personal preference. I don't like their guitar sounds, I don't like some of the arrangements and the playing can be sloppy. I listen to a gig from 2001 then listen to a 2011 one and it makes me feel sad.
It doesn't matter though. I'm not gonna get to see them play live again anyway!
If you played in Motorhead, would you want to change anything?

Would've preferred it to have been at the Barrowlands but it was a great night. 2nd sisters gig this year.
