This Corrosion

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I like this. It has a piano and doesn't have a guy with shades and a bad :von: fixation in it. Always a good thing. :D

Now that's the way to do it! :notworthy:
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Great voice, cool. A million times better than all the 'goth' covers
I don't doubt and I don't take direction....

Bleh

Pretty much confirms my opinion that it's a very dull song and 95% of the attraction of the original is down to Jim Steinman.

Quirky. Whilst not exactly the most original sound ever, I thought it did at least bring something new to the party.

You've got to admit (as I think Ben did in his Sonisphere interview) that the uber-commander is not given the recognition due when it comes to writing a pretty mean tune - even in terms of chart pop. He's a goth Neil Diamond.

can't say i'd agree...

even on the demo version (which is pretty much the riff & the machines left to play themselves) it's got a solid hook that drags you in. Stripped down to just the piano on this version, it still got power/menance.

I think TC is one of the best sisters songs & that's not beacuse of Jim Steinman... but that's just me.

I absolutely agree, This Corrosion is a great song and without the Steinman bombast down to pure Sisters precision even better ...

I'll take that as a second so it's official - This Corrosion is a great song!
