Lucretia - A missing link for interpretation perhaps

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

and now that i am back and putting things in a row, i found the pic remembered why i did took the pic and what the audioguide said about the myth , the interpretation of the paint. A dark story about suicide of mythological Lucretia.
There is a long row of paints with this subject and it was more common that i expected.

I think i can understand the one of the options of the named Lucretia of the Song.
In any way we always must have in mind the Cold War and the Nuclear weapons of the particular era that it was written.

Yeah, she was raped, and her reaction is to kill herself. Was regarded a role model of virtue for women in Renaissance times.
Funny coincidence that you take this picture now, just the other week I was looking at some beautiful Lucretias in a Cranach exhibition in Munich.
