Under the Gun cd single

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

They're spelled differently.

Beyond that, I can't remember. However:
Sisters wiki wrote: There is very little difference between the Jutland, Metropolis and A Slight Case Of Overbombing version of Under The Gun.

Any more of that and we'll be round your front door with the quick-setting whitewash and the shaved monkey.

Yeah, that's been written there. But is this so true?

IMHO, the Jutland mix is more like meeting halfway ... while the Metropolis mix is, say mostly acting out ...

And isn't the Slight Case Of Overbombing version the Metropolis mix? I thought so ...

I *think* they both have additional guitars, especially at the end. The Metro mix has more guitars.

I loved Under The Gun when it came out. The cover art was the best since the original Merciful Release singles... (always thought it had a hint of bowies cat people (giorgio moroder version) about it, which is no bad thing...)

i haven't listened to them back to back in a while but I remeber one had a slightly different drum beat at one point & that one was fractionally better. If I'd access to it now, I'd happily sit down and give extensive notes!

Jutland Mix has (to my ears): Significantly more prominent AE vocals in the mix, what sounds like a slightly different mix of vocal processing, a little less of that Girl From Berlin, what sounds like slightly more processed lead guitars, less of the crunchy rhythm guitars, the ending is more drawn out in the final notes - I would say a more melodic version of UTG and my preffered mix btw.

That's just off the top of my head btw, not supposed to be a critical analysis.
