In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. The Cure released "Three Imaginary Boys" in 1979. So technically not an 80's band. But else I agree with you, psichonaut, the best 3 Cure albums were published in the 80's.

Another serious candidate, though probably none of you knows them:
