Sisters doing it for themselves.....
How much would it cost to get a new record out... curious to see if a 'fan donation' campaign would work ?

It wouldn't.
I don't really think it's a question of money.

Sorry, me neither. And having professionally been in the music industry in the past, I estimate it can cost nothing or unlimitless, depending on what you want.
Also, this "individualised packaging" that bands do when it's a fan funded record puts me off. I may have an ancient egyptian approach but I like my idols far and distant

If money's still a motivating factor, I think it's the kind of money Eldritch has never even seen before, even in his wildest dreams. Stupidly big money... I'm talking one mother of a big wedge of greenbacks. In dollars cents terms, fourteen point eight trillion bucks. He won't push so much as a mixing desk fader for a penny less.
Anyone know if Simon Cowell's a fan..?

I don't know about that kind of money, but I do get the impression he's still holding out for an old-fashioned record deal like he would've got in the mid-90's but probably turned down because the offer wasn't good enough (and now he'll never see that kind of offer again). That's why in another thread I said he should embrace the internet. Things have moved on, nobody gets the kind of record deals they could have got 20 years ago. The music industry has moved on. Get with the times daddio etc...Machine Regime wrote:If money's still a motivating factor, I think it's the kind of money Eldritch has never even seen before, even in his wildest dreams. All he needs is a small portastudio and he could have new product after new product (although I assume he has all those old "new" songs recorded already). Just design some album art and bung them on itunes. Another idea that wouldn't cost anything at all would be to record every gig (soundboard) and sell them on itunes. Sure, people might copy them and upload them for free as would happen whatever the product and whatever the format, but I imagine it'd be quite a moneyspinner for Eldo if he decided to go down that route.

Maybe the thrill for Eldo in seeing his music in physical format or played on the radio is gone, done and dusted... it's instructive though that we all really wish he'd just treat us regardless to some new goodies. The BEST case scenario is that the Sisters as we know them have been secretly stockpiling immaculately produced new material, and when we least expect it (ie when we all stop moaning about lack of product on the internet), they release and utterly stunning, ballbreaking amazing fuckin' album trilogy of COMPLETELY NEW s**t!

Of course there's a way.

Perhaps there should be "Fantasy" section of the Forum for such threads instead of "Sisters Chat" ...damagedone wrote:ahh,we're so sick

So do I. Communicating with fans in an informal, friendly way, relying on fans and showing the appreciation etc... - it's all great and very cool, but only in case of other bands, not The Sisters (or A.Eldritch, to be precise). I don't know why, but I completely cannot imagine him doing something with the help of his fans' money (unless it's spending the money on his own favourite drinks, of course ). Being distant, independent, uncompromising and somehow unapproachable is in my opinion one of his finest characteristic features, and I'm sure he knows about it too.Sita wrote:I may have an ancient egyptian approach but I like my idols far and distant
Just wait till next door switches the TV on, then record it through a glass held up against the wall. The effect will be much the same.Sita wrote:PS - come to think about it - a LIVE album would be something where can I place my pre-order?

How can you be so certain? How would you know if he has the will to do it?sultan2075 wrote:Of course there's a way.

"... because we're that kind of people."
Presumably because he could do it quite easily, but doesn't.Prescott wrote:How can you be so certain? How would you know if he has the will to do it?sultan2075 wrote:Of course there's a way.

There was a time when Von wanted lots of money for a record deal. But that was long ago.
Now he is not interested at all. He just can not be arsed with a new album. He can hardly be arsed to write new songs for good sake.
