Blade Runner II

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. That's pretty exciting news! I hear it with mixed feelings though. Saw the movie as a kid and found it quite disturbing, read the novel as an adult and found it even more disturbing.
Just one thing... what's wrong with Harrison Ford? :(

Wasn't Bladerunner one of those things you had to like when you were sixteen but were in fact just dull? Like Russian arthouse films and The Clash? :twisted:

I saw Blade Runner again on TV last year sometime, but it'd been edited in a really weird way and various bits were missing an it made the whole thing awful and nonsensical.

Blade Runner was very cool and mysterious in the early 80s, like The Sisters and Conan the Barbarian. Not as cool as Jimmy Dean though. Or even Jimmy Sommerville.
And you know that she's half crazy but that's why you want to be there.

My colleages were talking about this at work, cause we were having a bad sequel ideas discussion and were discussing this new Conan the Barbarian film, so Blade Runner II came up. I am not a real fan of sequels, usually think they should pour money into new productions, rather than screwing up old storylines, but I have faith in Ridley Scott and I guess only time will tell.

How can you do a sequel to Blade Runner? It is what it is, self-contained and complete.

Having said that, Ridley Scott has been milking it for all it's worth over the years, with a new "super-extra-special real-this-time director's cut" almost every year, why not completely flog the dead horse with a sequel?
