Just out of curiosity, not that I know anything about this, but what are the ramifications of an FTP Site, whereby users could share stored files??
Is it a BIG no no??
Should I just shutup??
What if there were an FTP....???

As far as i know, these thing are really just by invitation only as most people use their computer for a multiple amount of things and can't run an FTP server 100% of the time.

Are you thinking what I think you're thinking? Same kinda one I could perhaps also get access to???
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Sounds like a great idea as long as there were no Official release stuff in there as well. That's what Ebay's for!
I'm sure between us we have a few MP3s to put up there. Currently I have 12gb of Live gigs, not including non-live boots and interviews and videos etc.

The type of works that copyright protects are:

so in that case:-
"The type of works that copyright protects are:
original literary works, e.g. novels, instruction manuals, computer programs, lyrics for songs, articles in newspapers, some types of databases"
means that sites that do this:-
http://www.mixi.net/Sisters.Of.Mercy/Di ... tml#Marian
would be in breach of copyright and thus taken down....
Me thinks someone is being a bit selective here...

If Von (or his big scary f--- off lawyers) still harbours any hopes of that demned elusive contract, he'll move pretty fast to shut down anything. I'd personally hate to see anyone's butt getting kicked for providing such a service with pure motivations (and for no personal gain), but such is the law of the land.
