Any embarrassing Christmas work parties yet?

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Then let's hear the goss, whether it happened to you or your colleagues (God I hate that word!). Personally I can't stand work do's and am desperately trying to get out of mine.

Well I managed to get out of mine last week due to touring commitments with Rhombus

Nice one. Assuming you were drunk, there are few things worse than the drunken walk home on your own.

Having spent most of my working life in charities/ public bodies, I'm now working for an unashamedly capitalist self-made millionaire company. And they now how to throw a party and pay for it to boot. The resident bastard got his long-service award and as his department cheered/ booed, he grabbed the microphone and shouted SHUT THE f**k UP. Made me feel quite at home. Shame it's an hour's drive each way, or I could see myself getting one of those.
Go to sleep now, Francis.

I didn't get out of mine unfortunately, couldn't find someone to go in my place. The food was very nice, but drunk academics are a sight to behold. I didn't drink - not after an 'unfortunate incident' last year

Shut the **** up will be my phrase for next year.

Well apart from the vast amount of cash spent mine passed without too much incident. It's always fun watching the young usually reserved members of staff getting paraletic.
Oh well, only 3 more days to go.

Office Party passed without incident, nice purvey, good quiz, ChEx speech was of the Vic Reeves Big Night Out type (baffled 90% of the dept.) and I drank all the red wine, hic. :D
