QB posting GBOA links, quoting PWEI, someone admitting to having seen the Claytown Troupe over sixty times, someone else with a Hunter's Club avatar. The grebo revival starts here !Garbageman wrote:Just heard Shoulders for the first time.....superb!
I remember persuading my flatmates that GBOA were the future of rock'n'roll when this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c09eHP_Z ... re=related came out and we trekked to UMIST to see them live only to discover that we made up about 50% of the audience. I think the name had put most of the students off !

I saw them supporting the Cult at Bradford on the Electric tour & then actually paid to see them headline at Leeds uni later that year & then finally at the Duchess in early 90. They had a few decent tunes but it all sounds very much of that era when I (very rarely) listen to them now.
If I remember rightly, they refused to come back on for an encore at Leeds uni, after someone jumped on stage & knicked Mary's cowboy hat during the encore break.

Give me one good reason

Leicester's greatest export after yours truly and Showaddywaddy.....
I remember when they used to perform two sets to double their fee, supporting themselves as "Lesbian dopeheads on mopeds".

Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

Never heard them before (though I know Mary Byker's work from Pigface).
The TSOM sample brought a big, dumb smile to my face. As did the lyric.
