Top Nite Out or Pipeline?

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

If we must have a couple of minutes for Chris and Ben to strut their stuff while Andy has a quick cig break, which do you prefer?

I love a bit of 50s and 60s surf, and Pipeline as a song is fab - Johnny Thunder's version is my favourite - but for me it doesn't have quite the same impact as Top Nite Out (or whatever it's called these days)

It's all about those sirens, and the build up of expectancy they create :notworthy:

So, what's your favourite instrumental interlude?

I'm really digging the pipeline. Although Top Nite Out is a stormer too. Hmmm. Can't choose!

I'm gonna be a heretic and vote Pipeline. TNO is no less awesome for that, but Pipeline was so new, fresh and unexpected.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

I love Pipeline.
Top Nite Out ... well, it was ok to me because of the guitars just jamming and so on ... until Groningen.
That was great and made it a Sisters' song to me. Funny, how long it took.

So, I can't decide. I like both and I like the fact that there are such songs in the Sisters' set.

Top Nite Out - not that it is that fantastic a piece of music more because I think they do a dreadful cover of Pipeline
