Setlist surprises - What's your favorite year?
You mean the girls giving out the cupcakes (assuming they were the same ones giving out the postcards in Glasgow).Husek wrote:The Most important thing in Leeds'11 was the cupcakes not the setlist .
That and the fact that we could actually hear Von's voice for the first time in almost a decade.
No way! Train(or Jeep)/Detonation Boulevard it's just part of the show.Robson wrote:It will be in the next century. When they drop Det Boulevard and play Very Far Parade
It's the perfect after-ribbons song.
Far Parade will be added to setlist without drop anything!
After i've wrote the original post, i've remembered all the fascination that some HLers have for the Cupcake Girls.stufarq wrote:You mean the girls giving out the cupcakes (assuming they were the same ones giving out the postcards in Glasgow).Husek wrote:The Most important thing in Leeds'11 was the cupcakes not the setlist .

Sister Ray/Louie Louie/Ghostrider at Pukkelpop 1992.
There was quite a long pause before they came back out for the encore and some people missed it.
And talking of Sister Ray medleys, has anyone noticed a few lines from Cher's "Gypsy's Tramps & Thieves" in Rendsberg 1997?

Sorry to confuse - got a bit exuberant - not ALL the songs off the EP were played... what I meant was that hearing the songs they played from the EP was a highlight, as it was the first time I'd heard them played live. Wish they still did Valentine.bearskin wrote:All the songs off Reptile House, Camden Electric Ballroom 1983. First time I'd heard them live.
Thanks. From that photo, I think it may have been different girls at Glasgow. (Which I suspected anyway. Probably cheaper to hire locals than bring them on tour. Can't remember what accent they spoke with but the fact that I suspected they were locals suggests they probably had Scottish accents.)Husek wrote:After i've wrote the original post, i've remembered all the fascination that some HLers have for the Cupcake Girls.

I so agree with this list!Ozpat wrote:1992 Hasselt:

Apart fom the Amsterdam one as I wasn't there...
And I'd like to add this one to the list:
Jolene at the end of the Dour gig in 97. The boys coming back one more time, barechested and all... very rock, very cool and very unexpected!
Indeed, weather wasn't too good either that day. When the regular set ended and there was no sign of them coming back on again, lots of people started leaving.Dan wrote:Sister Ray/Louie Louie/Ghostrider at Pukkelpop 1992.

And then Sister Ray started... the looks on many of our faces was just priceless. Good times indeed
in dub we trust
Exactly. But No time to cry in 2010 was also a big surprise. I even liked the way they played it (in contrast to some other "new" versions I don't really care about e.g. Floorshow).Ozpat wrote: 2010 Lokeren:
