Sisters time travel question

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

At the risk of another deluge of "record another flaming album!" posts, I thought this would be fun

Knowing what you know today, if you could travel back in time to 1981, what would you tell Andrew/ The Sisters Of Mercy?

Over to you........
;D
Cheers.

seconded but, i would go another way by constantly wishpering in his earduring chemistry classes: "gave your music for free via computer, yeah in about 25 years everyone will have personal computer in their home and will connect with anyone in the wurld using Internet, so go and give your music for free, be first who'll do that".

This thread is a very nice idea, Pista! ... :notworthy: ...

Seconded, they are a fat US entertainment company ... they will always put "political" interests over your existence and what you are doing does challenge not only their basis. Maybe you think you can force them into paying you for keeping your mouth shut, but a) they will pay you more properly than you might imagine, b) add a few deadly "surprises" on top and c) you can't keep your mouth shut, anyway ... and err ... are they not tapping your telephone?

In 1993, I'd have said: Talk to me!!! I can spare you a good deal of hard times at various levels ...

But hell, that went thoroughly wrong and by now you've got there somehow in most respects and for the rest (of what I can remember) I'm sure you'll be doing that (and more) as well ... ;D ...

So. It has come to this. Time travel fantasies.

I'm going to go listen to a band that makes records.

Why? It's always seemed a logical consequence to me back in the 80ies.
Maybe because over here in Germany, we, i.e. almost every non-conformist, were always under suspicion due to the cold war, the RAF and lots of other stuff. Remember laws like the "Radikalenerlass" prohibiting people with undesired views from a variety of professions like in education and so on...
Also I'm convinced that some interested circles actively undermined part of the so-called hippie movement by various measures including feeding them with drugs and contorting certain achievements towards their own interest in the long run, like for example the so-called sexual revolution ...
Don't know whether this makes it clearer for you, though ...
