Can't imagine many fans of the Girls would have broad enough taste to go for this. Ben must have loved the more AOR moments of VT. Judging by 's canny setlists for the recent Brazil gigs (where virtually the whole of VT was showcased), Night By Night will probably go down well there ...bearskin wrote:Seriously underwhelmed by it. Still think Ben is a great talent and his work on this is good, but OMG how much of a doosh cock-rocker is the singer?

Sounds like Faith No More, which wouldn't be such a bad thing if this was 1992 and the singer had anything like FNM's wit and self-awareness... and is that dude blessing me in the group photo?Nikolas Vitus Lagartija wrote:Can't imagine many fans of the Girls would have broad enough taste to go for this. People do so like to help you keep your feet on the ground
i remember that i went on NbN gig in my hometown, i remember that Ben walked near me but, ich dunt remember a single tune what they played that nacht, except NTTC (but i could be because it was like 4 years ago).
Are you saying NbN played a Sisters song?Bartek wrote:i remember that i went on NbN gig in my hometown, i remember that Ben walked near me but, ich dunt remember a single tune what they played that nacht, except NTTC (but i could be because it was like 4 years ago).
BTW, I'm not saying NbN isn't a good band.
They are just not so good as Eureka Machines.

Did exist any recording of this magic moment?Bartek wrote:yeah, they played NTTC or walk away, i don't remember. ohh, they got some lady on vox (or maybe it was support).Husek wrote:Are you saying NbN played a Sisters song?Bartek wrote:i remember that i went on NbN gig in my hometown, i remember that Ben walked near me but, ich dunt remember a single tune what they played that nacht, except NTTC (but i could be because it was like 4 years ago).

There was evidences of that show, for example i took crappy photos using my crappy cell phone. iIdo remember that there was some videos on YT but, i don't recall if it was from gigs in Pooland (if yes, check for: NbN Wroclaw, or NbN Warszawa).
i gave it a try... seriously all that fuss because of that song ? it's decent tunes (as for genre), nothing great but, also nothing bad.
Really? From what I've read across the General Chat section of this forum for example, I've noticed that Heartlanders have a great and varied taste in music. Just a quick browse of "Currently Listening to.." would tell you that (assuming people are genuine in their posts! ).Nikolas Vitus Lagartija wrote: Can't imagine many fans of the Girls would have broad enough taste to go for this.
I also wonder that for how many of us, TSOM aren't even close to being our favourite band.. just one of our many musical choices - or even just a band who happen to be pretty OK live these days, and therefore worth the admission price.
Personally, I have to say that I am more interested in bands that actually produce new music - so that alone puts Sisters down my list. IF they were still releasing music (even if that was sporadic) then I would probably consider them to be my favourite band. However, the smattering of "new" (really?) songs in their live sets doesn't cut it for me. I mean, how many times do we really want (or need) to hear Alice or Temple of Love again? In that brazilian interview Andrew denies that TSOM are a "nostalgia" act, and I think he can probably just about get away with it as long as they do keep putting new songs into the set - but some of what he calls "new" are several years old now.
Even if TSOM are considered to be an 'active' band as they tour a lot, then in my mind they only steer clear of the "nostalgia act" if they do actually add new stuff to the repertoire - which was WHEN?

I wasn't suggesting that HLers didn't have broad taste - I remember the recent chat about Arvo Pärt for example - just that it wouldn't extend to run-of-the-mill 80s poodle rock revivalists.

people here have broad taste in quality. not this s**t. yuck. where do you even take time to listen to such crap, when theres so much good music out there. i envy you.
since we're started to talked about taste (who got better - who got worst), this theard suddenly become extremely stupid.

This NbN Ben ambition thing is to me working as an assistent to the Chef in a strange but decent French restaurant (which losts his Michelin stas years agp) and then after closing time spending the night as a co-manager of any odd BBQ grill restaurant, claiming it's going to grow this summer.
It's up to him, and I hope the best. But then the NbN music should, eh, develope in a different direction. Still i dont care, just as long as he keeps doing the good work for the Sisters Restaurant.
