Mystery band/video question

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Apologies for posting here, but knowing HLers vast musical knowledge, I'm sure someone here might be able to help.

Saturday night I was watching TV and saw a really good music video that both me and the missus remarked upon. We're both big Massive Attack fans, and this was in that space, but a bit different. I'm sure the band was called "The ...." something and maybe the song was called 'Revolution'. Have tried Youtube and the internewt generally, but I'm hopeless at finding stuff like that.

Can anyone shine a light on it? TVM

Filmed in a nondescript urban setting (could've been Bristol I suppose). Driving riffs by white bloke head down giving it loads on guitar. Initial vocals by a white bloke, then a skinny black guy rapping - like I say, it was a bit MA. I remember both singers had their shirts buttoned right up to the top Ian Curtis style!

I thought they were called The Time, but the only ref I could find for that was the terrible Prince sidekicks. And I'm pretty sure the tune has "revolution' in the title.

PS - Tim, cheers for even trying!!!

^ Fixed that for you.

It wasn't Earthling was it? They're still around and have been on the edge of that Massive Attack/Bristol thing since the 90s.

No worries, I know how annoying this can be!

Doesn't ring any bells for me, but I very VERY rarely watch music television. Or indeed any telly whatsoever.

Pretty sure the group consciousness will eventually throw something up.

Was a band called The Times once: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Times_%28band%29

But more in the Television Personalities/Creation Records vein, so highly doubtful. Cracking version of Blue Monday though. :D
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Back from the Dead. It was a local band - of course!

The Wyld - Revolution.

It's on youtube. Now I've seen it again it doesn't grab me as much as first time around. Still, it is OK, and their stuff isn't half bad, overall.
