Anyone else back this nag in the National yesterday because of its Pixies link ? At 33-1 and leading with two fences to go I could have hugged Black Francis. Inevitably it then started going backwards. Have there ever been any race horses with Sisters related names - and if so, has anyone ever backed them and won ??

I did consider backing it but changed my mind and went for Seabass.
Black Planet would be a good name for a horse. Maybe there's been one called Alice? Or Marian? Who knows?

I've just found this to answer your question (in a round about way...)

There is an Alice but it looks like Sisters song names are a great opportunity for new names. First & Last & Always would be a good one.

That website's a great find which will provide hours of innocent fun (try typing in g*th or m******n for example and looking for the best match). I note that there's an "Anaconda", a "Sisterhood", a "Wayne On The Wire" and even a "Rockandahardplace" but the more you think about it, perhaps it's the other way round - maybe names his albums (FALAA. Floodland, Vision Thing) after the fantasy racehorses which he will buy when they sell in their millions (in his dreams). And what would the going be for the Eldritch Handicap Chase ? Giving ground, naturellement.Hom_Corleone wrote:I've just found this to answer your question (in a round about way...)
