Adrenochrome/Body Electric XXX

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Amazing to think that this was released thirty years ago this month. Although it lacks the polish of Alice/Floorshow (and wasn't released on MR), many agree that it was the start of the "golden run" of singles over the following eighteen months.
It was listed as a double A side so I thought it might be interesting to see which side people prefer and why.
To start the ball rolling, I'd have to say that I'm an Adrenochrome fan - I've always been a sucker for the opening riff - and it was the first signs of the true genius of employing the drum machine/Lurch combo to drive the band's sound.

Well in the interest of balance and the fact it's my very favoouritist one - Body Electric because it's one of those tracks that makes my nerve ends tingle (in a good way)

Adrenochrome is a rough diamond.
When i read that poll a question came up in mind, if someone knows it would be a nice help.
When was the last time it was played live?
Extreme question. i know, but we have a plenty of such knowledge in here for that kind of questions ;D

One doesn't like to rank such an august body of work

But if pushed, I would say that "Adrenochrome" is one of their even finer moments

Definitely Adrenochrome.......infact, dare I say that Body Electric is one of my least favorite Sisters tracks from the 1980-85 period and am I the only one that can't resist singing "MARX" at the appropriate time, when listening to Adrenochrome on bootlegs.

Body Electric, if only for the descending bassline towards the end.

Has to be Adrenochrome. "Hey, hey we're the Sisters"! ;D
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Studio, Adrenochrome for sure... Never had the pleasure to hear the song live apart from shoddy bootleg recordings ;(

Live, Body Electric... BE rendition they played in Birmingham 93 was a f**king monster also the version they performed in Arvika 2001 was a monster.

I've never discussed these songs with anyone before, and the results of the poll came as a bit of a surprise. I always thought Body Electric was an absolute favourite! Whenever I hear that song, no matter what version it is, I just can't sit still! So, Body Electric it is for me.
I have just as much of a dark side as the next person.

Adrenochrome!

I've advised my wife that if it ever comes down to a difficult life or death decision in intensive care, she should - as a last chance at resuscitation - play Adrenochrome prior to any reckless plug pulling!

Body Electric all the way. I've always viewed it as being only a smidgeon below Alice and Temple as the best of Sisters Mk1.

Adrenochrome is fine, but its the same division as Anaconda and Heartland for me.
