The third sounds most like Von although I suspect there's some more highbrow reference we're all missing. The mention of Jesus in the same verse has always drawn me toeards the Biblical Adam but I can't see any link to the song.
I always took
this Adam for granted ... oh, and yes - clearly followed by an "s" ...

Adam Smith would make sense in that it (i.e. the reference to the father of capitalism) is mentioned after the bit about shaking the hand that feeds you. However, Biblical Adam makes sense in the Jesus context in that Eve's Adam was the father of the blame culture, which was clearly a problem in the relationship (whether with the band, a partner, or to take
@MarkFiend's multi-layered approach, both) being described in NTTC, whereas Jesus was very much the opposite (i.e. forgiveness of sins), so it is as if he never came in the context of that relationship.
@Stufarq The reason I was bringing in other lyrics was to try to show how

seems to swing from talking about issues of commitment, communication, direction and desire in a physical relationship to the same issues within the band - unless "Careful" is lingering at the door in a way I had never imagined before !
But with historical hindsight - the subtext in a band context on FALAA seems fairly clear : I'm fed up of the arguing (million conversations etc), it's no time to run and hide or linger at the door, choose to walk away (like Ben) or stay...but if you do, remember that the band is mine (first and last and always).
