As for the splitting of royalties, there was no problem with the re-release of the studio albums from previous members, so I doubt there would be any with a DVD release.

I've written it before, the DVD was mastered and ready to go, Chris S did it. It was gonna be sold direct off the web, but the live shows were so poor he couldn't get any uk gigs; no promoter would take the gamble and Chris S had left.
I don't think there is much good quality bootleg stuff out there on youtube, because the masters are sitting unloved in boxes and nobody cares enough to get them out.
It was Jessica who filmed every gig, 2001-2005 and some if I recall, in 2006

So I was right with my first guess, terrible gigs would have made a bad DVD. I feel all justified and glowing.

The live shows I have seen between 2001 and 2005 (five, IIRC) were not poor at all. Well, Dusseldorf in 2003 might have been somewhat frustrating to the band since there were not exactly many people in the Philipshalle ...
And ah, Jessica was the name of the girls who filmed them/us in the 2000s ... ...

From what I gather The Sisters and the whole Darkwave scene that the band are totally not a part of is far bigger in Germany than England, ironically since it was arguably the birthplace of it. Perhaps he gets bigger venues with better facilities there? Maybe he also makes more effort for his biggest market?

Hhm, judge by yourself - the live shows I've been to were actually Bonn and Hasselt 2001, M'era Luna 2002 (all of which festival gigs), Dusseldorf Philipshalle 2003, and in 2005 Tilburg 013 and M'era Luna again. I liked them all, with Bonn, Hasselt, M'era Luna 2002 and Tilburg definitely good and classic shows, IMO*
