Finnish Gothsters HIM have made no secret of their admiration for Wayne and the gang,a few years ago in Kerrang magazine, when asked if they were surprised at the success of their current single (the name of which escapes me I'm afraid) the singer Ville Valo admitted that he was surprised, because the song was "just another of our rip offs of The m*****n"Drenchrom wrote:Yes they do, the main one was Funhouse from Sweden i think.DeWinter wrote:I defy anyone to tell me Vision Thing is superior to Elyzium with a straight face..but then again FALAA slaps The Nephilim around the face with it's glans.Elystan wrote: Edit: just read the last page. To me, the Editors are to Interpol as say, Fields of the Nephilim are to the Sisters. Make of that what you will.
Swings and roondaboots.
I actually didn't mind The Merry Thoughts cover of Hazel O' Connor's "Will You?". If I didn't know better I'd have said it was Old Sarky Sourpuss Misanthropy himself dusting off the vocal chords on it. My beloved Neffs have a similar complete rip-off band called Garden of Delight who don't have an original bone in their body. I wonder if there's a Mish clone band?
Who are the best Sisters substitute?

The Swedish band Kent. Turns out they're groovy as hell. Not just as a Sisters substitute, either, but there is some common sensibility.

Sounds a bit like Heroes Del Silencio in Swedish to mecenturionofprix wrote:The Swedish band Kent. Turns out they're groovy as hell. Not just as a Sisters substitute, either, but there is some common sensibility.

Ha ha, well. I like them.
On second thought, it is a lot lighter musically than the Sisters so maybe not to the tastes here, but I think there's something similar about it.

Some stuff by R.E.M. hits the Sisters spot, as well.
