Best Sisters Album (/EP)

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Inspired by The Cure poll in general chat and the fact that it's a fairly quiet day at work.... :innocent:

...and yes - I'm sure it's been done before but there's plenty of fairly new people...

where's Reptile House?

i know it's not technically an album but it's the best thing the Sisters did by a mile (imo, obviously).

It's decided between Vision Thing and Floodland for me - voted VT on the day's preference.

No - it's not an album. :|

BUT - it is good enough to warrant being in the poll.

Songs they have been playing live for decades not an official release ... :( ...

However, I couldn't decide for one album. I love them all plus the unreleased songs and covers.
Also, each album has songs that I find less great (apart from The Reptile House EP, but this,
like any other album, covers only a exerpt from The Sisters for me).
In addition, I entirely enjoy the enormous variety of all those live recordings ... wonderful, a galaxy ... ;D ;D ...

Oh, Reptile it is then, but Gift a very close second.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Shouldn't that be 'anyone voting for First & Last & Always will be taken outside and shot.'?

Although I'm with Being645 all the way, Pukkelpop 92, Forum 98, Frankfurt 03 or Amphitamine Logic is properly where the Sisters are at their best. IMHO of bloody course. Anyone disagreeing should be taken outside and Shot Rev 4.

Reptile House, what else :notworthy:

Btw, as they're already playing Kiss nowadays, I'd love to hear Valentine live again

I actually kind of like the SSV record, when the weather is right and I'm in the right sort of mood.

Voted Reptile.
