Best Sisters Album (/EP)

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Is this another outbreak of HL irony which I am notoriously poor at spotting ?
And no ASCOOB on the list (not that I would have voted for that), but both RH and SGWBM ?? Despite the smaller number of choices, this is even harder to decide than the Cure one, not that anyone is likely to vote for anything released in the last twenty years in that poll either.

Tough one for me but I got to know the Sisters through FALAA so I will remember that now in my vote.

Reptile House. But I know it is easier to make a flawless EP then it is to make a flawless LP. FALAA has poor production, Floodland's 1959 - although wonderfull - doesn't fit in with the other tracks, Vision Thing is a bit too simplistic, but Reptile House? It's the Cure's Pornography combined with Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures. A masterpiece.

I have to say, I like listening to "Shut The Fu ck Up" sometimes. Still - respek to anyone that actually prefers to rock out to SSV.

Well otherwise, I will have to vote for ASCOO, for it's the only "official" release with Under The Gun on it ... 8)

First And Last And Always.
I've been listening to it for the last twenty seven years. I expect I will still be listening to it for a few years more yet.

There are times that SSV works, but not very often... so that can never win ;D

The Reptile House EP is the best thing they did, but it ain't no album so that can't win this poll either.

Falaa, Floodland & Vision Thing are all great albums, but there are flaws on all 3 so none of them gets first place.

Some Girls Wander By Mistake might not be a 'real' album, but it's the Sisters as I like them best and the Reptile House EP is among all those classics... Yep, I've got my winner!

Y'know, I actually like Vision Thing quite a bit. Better than FALAA, depending on my mood. (The FALAA-era B-sides are far better than the VT-era ones, though, for whatever that's worth.)

But I have to go with Floodland. It's the odd one out for a catalog of otherwise rocking guitar riff songs, but it's my favorite to just sit down and listen to from start to finish.

This poll is kind of strange.
You have to choose between Reptile House AND SGWBM. So I think RH with Alice, Body Electric, Andrenochrome, TOL, Heartland, Gimme Shelter and Floorshow as bonustracks is better.
But SGWBM is just a sampler and not a proper LP.
There have been better plans
But none that I could ever understand...

Only two votes out of sixty one so far for one of the three "proper" albums - any chance that we might get fewer VT tracks at the Girls' gigs from now on ??

Normally the times when I have one of the others on.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Didn't someone around here add drums to it a few years back (since the version with drums never leaked)?
