Best Sisters Cover Of Another Bands Song

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I assume you mean "Best Sisters cover" as opposed to "which of these songs (covered by the Sisters) is best (in its original)"?

Ghost Rider anyone? I've always found it way better than Sister Ray (on the same Doctor Avalanche workout).

I voted for Jolene but was very tempted to go for Comfortably Numb.

This is a tough one.

I voted for Gimme Shelter particularly as the live versions pre-86 and then in 1990 were quite different but yet both superb.

I'm surprised no-one has voted for Sister Ray. This would have been my second choice.

In the hundreds of gigs i've been to there have never been better final songs than Sister Ray or Ghostrider/Louie Louie.

I'd surely survive without I Didn't Know I Loved You, I Wanna Be Sedated, Uptown Top Ranking and Bei Mir Bist Du Schön.

while all the others are indispensable ...

Very, very hard to decide for one. They are all so wonderful, chosen and performed so perfectly at their time, (Sugar Baby Love included).
Btw, Knockin' On Heaven's Door is also not in the list ....

But - somewhat contrary to my choice of the best Sisters guitarist - I shall vote for Gift That Shines ...

since that was the break winning the set for recent and coming developments ... ;D ;D ;D ...

This one was difficult, but in the end it had to be Emma.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.
