Jaz Coleman, alive and kicking in the Western Sahara
To the relief of family and friends, Killing Joke Frontman Jaz Coleman appeared today from his retreat in the Western Sahara bemused by all the fuss of his disappearance. “I’ve been finishing my book and writing the score for my new project – (The Nirvana Symphonic) – (laughs), what’s all the fuss about then?�
Coleman had apparently been living a nomadic existence for the last month in the desert in order to concentrate on finishing his two current projects. Nirvana looks like becoming a TV show and a concert in Seattle in 2013 and the book and an exclusive Coleman album will be packaged together and available for order as early as next week.
International media picked up on the story last week, sending it global, from the press release announced by the band on the Killing Joke Official Facebook site questioning his whereabouts. Fans from around the world have been more than proactive in their opinions - from random sightings in Christchurch New Zealand, to past recollections of his elusive behaviors in Iceland.
Yet mystery still surrounds the message on Facebook regarding The Cult and The m*****n Shows of which Coleman claims no knowledge. 'Looks like this has caused a right ding dong and feel its impossible to continue this tour under the circumstances'. His comments were to wish both The Cult and The m*****n the best of luck on the tour, and to find out who has been impersonating him.[/i]

So this evil twin of his hacked his Facebook, left a message containing details only someone rather involved with the tour would know, and did this all to co-incide with him taking an unexpected and rather oddly timed trip to the fecking Sahara??
Get off. He didn't want to do the tour and when it didnt sell as well as was hoped, buggered off leaving an abusive message like a fifteen year old girl and let his bandmates carry the can. What an arse.
Gave me a bit more respect for Wayne though. He showed a lot of class though all this.

Someone impersonates Jaz Coleman to pretend that Killing Joke won't be doing the tour. Coleman says he knows nothing about it but, as a direct result, Killing Joke won't be doing the tour. Looks like it was a good impersonation after all.
Any more of that and we'll be round your front door with the quick-setting whitewash and the shaved monkey.

Jaz goes missing...turns up in unlikely overseas destination...conspiracy theory...new symphonic project...blah blah blah. He seems to be taking the 80's revival very seriously but it's even more tiresome than it was in 1983 for us onlookers.

Will be at Hammersmith regardless, having originally purchased Wembley tickets, but having only seen the Joke a couple of times, the Cult in a surely never to be bettered show in Amsterdam and being underwhelmed by the Mish at their Brixton show, they were the band I was most anticipating.
Have seen that The Alarm are on standby. Not quite the same for me.

Well, some good news at last re: The Cult tour! We've just heard that there won't be a third band added to the tour. It seems that my foot stamping diva tantrum about not replacing Killing Joke has worked. We are now gonna be playing for a minimum of 75 minutes! Yeah.
Like many of you I am still disappointed that Killing Joke aren't playing but again, like many of you, this outcome is the one that I preferred compared to the options that were put forward. We're busy rehearsing now and even have two new songs rehearsed which we will be playing throughout the tour. That'll be the moment you can go to the bar! We're looking forward to this, hope you are. We'll see you there.

So I guess the Cult are on from around 9.30pm til 11pm.
Very mixed feelings about this, I recall that the Mish were due to play for an hour in the first place so to lose an (admittedly shortened) KJ set in order to get an extra 15 minutes of The m*****n doesn't seem to add up.
"DJ 6.30-7.30" doesn't really cut it for me. I just don't subscribe to the idea that someone playing records BEFORE a gig counts as something worthy of listing in the running order, and 90 minutes between doors opening and first band taking the stage seems un-necessarily long.

Agreed although dead time seems to be an increasing staple of gigs these days in order to hike up the bar's takings. The one that bugs me most is the half hour or so resetting between bands and then checking all the levels a thousand times.
