Is there a definitive book ?
I have read several over the years and have a friend who's curious and I would like to point them in the right direction.

I read his book "The New Architecture and The Bauhaus" - captivating stuff, really helped me get an insight into the movement and the philosophy. His house is near our office in Boston, definitely worth a visit if you're up that way - and the Neue Galerie in New York has some fantastic Bauhaus stuff.
