Sorry if this has already been broached but any thoughts on enabling a direct "tweet" option to threads?
Right now it's possible to go the "scenic route" & tweet the url, but an "instant tweet" option would be awesome.
I see the official tweets & often go to see them, but to let members tweet any thread via a button would be brilliant.
Traffic would increase & new members may pop up too.
The same goes for the wiki.
Just throwing it out there...........

i could be your much younger bro, but i also don't get it all those tw@t, tumbrl. but i do have FB strictly as contact platform.
Yeah I also don't feel the need for this stuff, just got some accounts for testing purposes. Recently I got a smartphone from my workplace and with that certain brand I feel like I'm dancing with the devil (^^@James)Bartek wrote:i could be your much younger bro, but i also don't get it all those tw@t, tumbrl. but i do have FB strictly as contact platform.
Suddenly my real life people ask me to install this or that app so I can keep in touch kind of 24/7. But I'm still not interested to tell anybody of them my FB account - it just doesn't make much sense since they can't add me and I won't add them. I still have my private cell they can call me if I decide to have it turned on.
I think the logic is that there are some very interesting posts here & not everyone's logged in all the time, but may be following the HL twitter &/or FB feeds.
So if you got wind of a secret gig or (if hell freezes over) a new single etc. being able to fire it out into the twittersphere or FB-sphere (is that correct?) will give it quite a lot of attention pretty quickly.
It's all down to personal preference of course (I loathe Farcebook with a passion for example), but it can give the forum & its discussions the maximum attention (which I think it deserves).
The button clicking will only send the first few words & a URL, so people are led straight back to HL to read the whole topic.
Ergo: more people, potentially more discussion & more insanity

Yeah - we also need to consider that more and more people are using mobile devices for this socializing tools and twitter/fb are already quite established in this mobile segment. One doesn't have to like it but from the perspective of a webmaster you still must face these facts and offer solutions in order to get in touch with new people and maintain the connectivity to existing users.
I've installed tapatalk @PD and so far it is used just by a very few people but the overall web statistic proves a growing part of visitors browsing with mobileOS.
Facebook killed a forum I recently used to frequent. Now I have to ring/email people to find out stuff.Pista wrote: It's all down to personal preference of course (I loathe Farcebook with a passion for example), but it can give the forum & its discussions the maximum attention (which I think it deserves).
Five cups of coffee just to be myself...when I'd rather be somebody else
TT is a handy little app for sure.DocSommer wrote:

Forum runner's another one worth a peek at.
Forum Runners looks interesting too but I think I'm not gonna add another service until people start requesting it more often - there's already a bunch of phpBB + mod updates on the to do list
