Yeah, last time there were rumours about a Smiths reunion, Johnny Marr was overheard speculating about the temperature of certain netherworldly domains, and about porcine aviators.
The fundamental cause of the trouble is that in the modern world the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt.

Would and Mozza have been pals ?
A Northerner and a Southerner
An anti-rocker (daffs and hearing aid) and an arch rocker (leather and shades)
A New York Dolls fan and a Stooges fan
A Union Jack waving Brit and a European
A comprehensive school pupil and a grammar/private schoolboy
However both had been energised by punk (both turned 18 in May 1977) and were fans of the Ramones, and brought a somewhat effete intellectualism to the world of rock, knowingly parodying the very form they came to worship, with their songwriting guitarist sidekicks, and they shared a disdain for the cosy London music mafia (labels and press). Perhaps someone will make a Frost/Nixon (or more appositely Revie/Clough) style mockumentary about their backstage meetings in '83. I'd pay good money to go and see it !

Moz said NO, to that idea (he was speaking about reunion for gig in Coachella.radiojamaica wrote:Today in newspaper I read about a Smiths reunion next year. Glastonbury & 4 other dates or so... Did I go into hypersleep and is it april fools day already?
I can't stop thinking that Wide to Receive by Morrissey and Wide Receiver are somehow interlinked. Okay, reading the lyrics they are probably not, but it's still a coincidence.
I have just as much of a dark side as the next person.

I think Mozz' position in all this is very clear for everybody. Hence my surprised reaction when I read a 'normal' newspaper yesterday and there in the music-newssection it says very dry that there is a Smiths reunion coming and that contracts are signed. A bit weird for october 3rd, no?Bartek wrote:Moz said NO, to that idea (he was speaking about reunion for gig in Coachella.radiojamaica wrote:Today in newspaper I read about a Smiths reunion next year. But no, I don't think it's actually gonna happen... they probably just took a bad source serious
