Attn: U.S. East Coast Heartlanders...

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I think this is worth reposting:

Trust me. When you are being advised to evacuate, please take this extremely seriously. Stay safe.

Looks like NYC was spared the worst of it, although the subways tunnels have flooded (which probably means commuting in my 'jamas the rest of the week - WOO!), a couple of transformers have blown up (bits of Optimus Prime were scattered across a 15-block radius), and my office is still without power.

Are you ok out in there in the wilds, Sinnie?

edit: Never mind.

The most successful tyranny is not the one that uses force to assure uniformity but the one that removes the awareness of other possibilities, that makes it seem inconceivable that other ways are viable, that removes the sense that there is an outside.

Aye - and thanks for checking on me! ;D Had a scary night last night with roaring, massive wind gusts and driving rain, but, overall, no damage to the house and only a few branches down in the yard. The rest of the area - and the state - wasn't so lucky, though. Power went out on the street in the wee hours, but it's back on now. Thank f*ck. I feel so sorry for the folks along the CT shore, in NJ, etc.!!!
