The most successful tyranny is not the one that uses force to assure uniformity but the one that removes the awareness of other possibilities, that makes it seem inconceivable that other ways are viable, that removes the sense that there is an outside.

Performances by Terry Callier before his passing recently. He sang Massive Attack's song 'Live With Me', a f**king beautiful tune indeed.
arranged and mixed by Robert Del Naja and Euan Dickinson

Cool! That FACT series is really great I think. There's a great one Mogwai did and another from The Orb and ...Sweetcheeks wrote:Cheers Koen.radiojamaica wrote:It's this one: http://www.discogs.com/Daddy-G-DJ-Kicks/release/340006
It's a dj mix that Massive Attack member Daddy G made a couple of years ago. DJ-Kicks being a very good mix compilation series
Oh, and while we're talking about good (reggae) mixtapes, this is another gem: http://www.mixcloud.com/FACTMixArchive/ ... das-sound/
Kevin Martin/King Midas Sound does a mighty fine job here... one for the headphones in the wee small hours of the mornin'... One of my faves
Haven't gotten to Daddy G yet but the King Midas mix was not bad. Nice mention of one of Sade's songs (Lover's Rock)
Then it played this one, which is pretty damn cool: http://www.mixcloud.com/FACTMixArchive/ ... tic-minds/ Me likey

Terry Callier died? What a talent that bloke was. I recall seeing him play live in the Bristol Fleece pub when he was doing Timepeace. It being Bristol, half of the "in crowd" stood at the back and talked amongst themselves loudly through his performance. Philistine nob-ends.Sweetcheeks wrote:Performances by Terry Callier before his passing recently. He sang Massive Attack's song 'Live With Me', a f**king beautiful tune indeed.

Record of the decade, for sure. I can't imagine anyone doing anything better. In fact, even calling it record of the year/record of the decade does it a disservice. It is simply an astounding record. I regret missing them last time they swung through my neck of the woods.
