Best show of 2012

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

So what was the best gig you went to this year?

For me, The Cure at Reading, closely followed by Ulterior in Bratislava.
:D
Cheers.

A Place To Bury Strangers in Trix, Antwerp last May. Fifth time or so I saw them and I guess this was the one were all elements fitted perfectly!

From the olde guarde it was also The Cure for me, at Pïnkpop in May. That was grand...

Sisters at Amphi were nice but NMA together with German support SLIME in Cologne in December were fantastic

Probably the Beach Boys, so much better than they had any right to be. 8) 8) 8)

Tricky's Maxinquaye gig at the Indigo was a definite contender for one of the worst things ever.

The m*****n in Budapest. :innocent:
I see it all perfectly; there are two possible situations - one can either do this or that. My honest opinion and my friendly advice is this: do it or do not do it - you will regret both.

Surprise winner for me was Peter Hook & The Light.
Could have been very contrived - but somehow it worked really well.
By far the best gig of the year. :notworthy:

NMA at rock city in nottingham last weekend - a 45 minute acoustic (ish) set followed by nearly 2 hours of the full band. :notworthy:
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"
