Which is less likely?

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Well, OK, I'd have to go with the first option too, as with all the recordings they are apparently making all the time, the new album could in theory be released posthumously.

I think Eldritch would rather be dead than work with Hussey again and Marx probably wouldn't do it either.

Sooner (or rather later) we will probably get a recording of the songs they perform live that are unreleased

I do not think Eldritch and/or Huss would be keen on that one either.

A reunion will never happen. A new album is even less likely than that.
Any more of that and we'll be round your front door with the quick-setting whitewash and the shaved monkey.

There's not enough filthy lucre on the planet for either to happen.

I also think, Eldritch won't ever work with Hussey again and Marx wouldn't work with either of the two. Hence, it has to be option 1 although we probably won't see any new record facing the surface as long Eldritch is able to make money with gigs / go on tour :?

My estimate of the probabilities:

Sisters reunion - 0%
New album - 0.0001%

In a completely unscientific context, of course.

Seems about right.

I wouldn't really be interested in a reunion.

what i meant, and what you probably know and knew, is, that after the all orgasms fall down (oh my dog, oh my dog, new album, new album) some of us might see/hear that album is not that good as we expected, esp. after long 20+ (30+?) yrs of waiting (time to write some good tunes, in every details).

Well at least there'd be a few less people buying tickets to a reunion gig :D

I would actually be very excited for a new record. I really do like the way the band sounds today (though not as much as when Pearson was in the band--I loved the brief period of Pearson/Catalyst. Ben's a great guitar player, but a little too metal for my taste. Or maybe I just don't like the live sound mix?), and I would very much like to hear the "new" songs--most of which I think are quite good--given a proper recording and release. Even Romeo Down, which has historically bored me to tears live, would probably work very well on record, where more subtlety can be present.

So yeah, I think a new record would probably be a straight-ahead rocker, and very good. If My Bloody Valentine can do it without a label, so can TSOM. Chris has publicly stated he'd like to release something, hasn't he? Hell, I'll buy ten copies.

But a reunion? Dullsville, baby.
