question, geekhearts

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

When you say music software, do you mean player, editor or something else?
Cheers.

I use vlc for playing stuff on OSX (and on Linux, too). ITunes is indeed terrible and also won't play, for example, ogg vorbis and flac.

Logic is pretty good considering all the features it has at the current price. However, I can't help feeling that development has largely stagnated (there hasn't been a significant update since mid 2009) and it's rapidly being left behind by its competitors.

There's also Cockos Reaper which is cheap, cross-platform and seems to be pretty good, though I haven't tried it myself.

Cubase runs smooth as silk here too, on the iMac as well as the Macbook.

You even have an iPad version now (Cubasis), which works seamlessly together with its Big Brother :)
